EVERY DAY COUNTS PROGRAM
Every Day Counts is a free program offered by the North Shore Hospice & Palliative Project and Vancouver Coastal Health North Shore Palliative Care. This progressive and flexible program is specifically designed for patients facing serious illness and their families to realize the best quality of life. It includes guidance information sessions, well-being sessions, and supportive counseling.

Every Day Counts puts patients of all ages at the center of care. With tailored programs, including yoga, relaxation support groups, and our Portrait in the Garden sessions, Every Day Counts promotes emotional and physical well-being with focus on the patient. Patients can choose from several classes that improve vitality and help them stay active.
Join our free programs dedicated to promoting well-being, which are adapted to your needs:
YOGA & TAI CHI: Group classes for all levels that include breathing exercises, relaxation, stretching, and meditation. Our instructors are all professionally certified and are experienced in a wide variety of yoga forms.
MEDITATION - Come and explore a variety of meditation styles that are popular around the world. Starting in October this class will be offered twice monthly on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday at 1:30 pm.
RELAXATION SUPPORT GROUPS: Led by our Music Therapist and Social Worker, a place to find quiet stillness with music and relaxation. Thursday mornings in the Every Day Counts Centre.
PORTRAIT in the GARDEN: Enjoy an afternoon gathering where you can bring along family members or a friend with you to dabble with makeup touch-ups, experiment with hair pieces and wigs, all while enjoying music and refreshments. Then finish off with a portrait of you (and anyone you bring) taken in the garden. Completely complimentary!
Sewing Drop-In Groups: Every Wednesday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the Every Day Counts Centre we gather to sew and socialize.
In-Stitches - Hand Sewing Drop In: Bring your hand work or come in
for a visit and share a lovely afternoon with others. We’ll be working on hand projects with needle
and thread such as; embroidery, English paper piecing, applique, wool applique
and hand quilting. Come and see how easy. portable and relaxing hand sewing can be.
Sew it's Wednesday - Machine Sewing Drop -In: Bring your sewing machine, unfinished
quilting projects and have some dedicated time to sew and learn from
others. We’ll be happy to guide you through
the quilting process. Need advice on how
to get started in quilting? Join us any
time and see how easy it is.

SUPPORT & GRIEF COUNSELLING
Serious illness is as much an emotional and spiritual journey, as it is physical. We stand together as a community to provide empathy and support throughout this stage in life. Patients and family members are encouraged to seek out assistance in individual and group settings.
Our patient and family support counsellors are professionally trained and experienced in bereavement. They are available to listen, share, and offer insight on various subjects:
